not okay.

So I was having leftovers from the rice'n'beans (see previous recipe!) and I was going for the Taco Bell sauce, and found ketchup in the bowl we normally reserve for Taco Bell sauce.  This was disturbing.  However, it also made me think about how there are no other fast food places that have free sauces that are nearly as good as Taco Bell <3

its been a while.

We're back!!!  Sorry for the lack of posts- it's been busy with finals, and AW has been drunk a lot lately, and keeps forgetting to post her recipes.  But we've been going strong with the taco bell sauce, and our commitment to furthering public knowledge of how good these sauces are has never wavered!

Here's a great recipe that's super easy, and tastes awesome-mostly because of the taco bell sauce :)

Rice'n'Beans...chihuahua style
You will need:
Rice
Canned black beans (preferably in seasoned sauce)
Salsa
Onion (optional)
Garlic paste (optional)
Taco Bell sauce of choice

Make the rice.  Should be easy enough.  Basically boil twice as much water as you have rice, then add the rice and turn the heat low with the lid covered.  Just don't burn it!

Add a little bit of oil to a pan, and heat on high.  Add diced onions and a little garlic paste, and sautee for a few minutes until the onions are translucent.

Add 1 can of black beans -don't bother draining it or anything, especially if you got the seasoned kind!  Add two tablespoons of salsa, and stir occasionally on high heat, until it's the consistency you want.  Then add in the taco bell sauce- you'll need a lot because the beans cancel out the spiciness, but it's so worth it!

Definitely try this one- you can add cheese to it too, and it tastes great.  It's so easy, and fills you up!

Keep sending us your recipes and pictures!!

Happy VDAY tomorrow!

So we know, it's a bit early to post about Valentines Day (it is after all tomorrow)...But we have something important to share.

Listen, roses, chocolate, swarovski crystals they're all...OK presents we GUESS....
but if you want to be creative, and show him/her that you care, and that you find your significant other worthy of something special, take them to taco bell for dinner. If you are taking your lady friend, sneak some sauce packets into her purse(make sure they haven't been opened yet, trust us).

Most restaurant meals cost over $5 dollars anyways, who wants to pay that kind money? Plus it's hard to get a reservation if you haven't made one already.
If you don't have anyone to celebrate the day with, enough of this crying- over-sappy-love-movies thing that we know you do, and go feel sexy!! Put on your hottest outfit, a dab of hot sauce lip gloss (see earlier posts) and treat yourself to a nice meal. A 99 cent burrito and supersize soda.

So screw the traditional Valentines Day and have a special one tomorrow.
You're welcome.

Note: If you want to show us love and bring us flowers, jewels, and/or candy underwear please email us privately.

hotter than wasabi.

Sorry it's been so long since our last posts.  We've just been basking in the fame and glory of our new-found calling in society, through the success of our blog.  Well big news- we are being featured in a documentary!  A contributor from Atlanta, GA provided us with an excellent recipe idea and filmed the making of it for a mock news report class project.

Here's the recipe we used in the feature.

"TBell Sushi Rolls"
You will need:
99 cent bean burritos
A sharp knife
Mexican cheese blend
Bell peppers, onions, green chilies, and cilantro diced
Taco Bell sauce!

Preheat a toaster oven to 400˚F.  Cut the bean burritos into one inch slices- each burrito should give you about 5 rolls.  Mush them into smaller cylinders so that they look like real sushi rolls.  Add a pinch of Mexican cheese on top of each and bake at 400˚F for about 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tortilla looks slightly crisp.  Take them out of the oven, and add a pinch of the bell pepper, onion, chili, and cilantro mixture onto each one.  Top with your favorite Taco Bell sauce, and enjoy!!

This literally takes a few minutes, the price is unbeatable, it turns out looking professional, and tastes delicious, so definitely give this one a try!  Thanks again to our contributors, and as always, send us your recipes, ideas, pictures, and more!!
They were so good, we made another batch!!

Random Thought of The Day: Graduating

If this whole figuring- out- our -lives thing for next year doesn't pan out, maybe the two of us could be the new spokeswomen for Taco Bell?

A Jerry of Subway- esque figure, someone who has undergone a great transformation. Someone to look up to! An inspiration!

We have been eating the Taco Bell Sauce literally three times a day for the last month or so (and ate there so many times last semester). We plan to continue doing this until the sauce packets are recalled due to lab results that reveal chemicals, asbestos, or/and endangered animal particles. Still, friends and family. Please every time you see us take a good look...

1. If we look better- we can somehow advertise the sauce's effects on beauty. Plus WE LOVE THE SAUCE

2. If we look worse (hair thinning, a greenish tint in the eyes, chronic spicy breath) we can sue and spend the rest of our days laying on our backs in Barbados sipping away on Pina Coladas with a dash of Mild Sauce

  Win/Win.

east meets...south?

Hey!  Okay, so you know how you buy random frozen foods thinking you'll eat them, but then forget they exist, and months go by before you find them again?  Well no worries, because here's a trick to turn even the most random freezer foods into a delicious snack!

So I found half a box of frozen spring rolls in the freezer that I'd forgotten about till today.  Being a college student, I wasn't going to dismiss the discovery of food in my apartment, so I thought they might taste good with...you guessed it- Taco Bell sauce!

Ingredients:
Whatever you find in the freezer
Taco Bell sauce

Cook as directed and go crazy with the sauce!!
I went with the Fire and Verde sauces to make my own version of sweet and spicy.  The Asian spring roll taste with the Mexican flavors were a great blend.  Enjoy rediscovering the wonders of random frozen foods!

"the pittsburgh left turn."

Today's recipe is from a featured contributor in Pittsburgh!  This one serves a bunch, so if you want to wow a crowd, this is the dish- and I bet no one will know it has Taco Bell sauces in it!  I hope you like it!

Ingredients:
1 cup green/brown lentils
1 cup bulgar wheat
1 large onion
1 large green bell pepper
1/2 cup chunky salsa
8oz sour cream
8oz + 4 oz grated cheddar cheese
12 large tortillas
Enchilada sauce (2 small cans or 1 large can)
Taco Bell Sauce!

Spices:
cumin, taco seasoning, garlic powder, chili powder, etc.

Add 1 cup lentils to 3 cups water, simmer for 30 mins or until soft.  Add seasoning!
Bring 2 1/2 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat and add bulgur wheat. Add seasoning! Let stand covered for 30 mins.

MEANWHILE:
Finely chop and saute onion and pepper (can also add red bell pepper if you want-the more colors the merrier!).  Grate 8oz cheese and mix with sour cream in a bowl.  Set aside the other 4oz of grated cheese.  Prepare a 9x13 pan by spreading enchilada sauce on the bottom and sides.  Preheat oven to 400.  Mix lentil, bulgur, onions, peppers, and salsa together.  Set up a large plate where you can coat both sides of tortilla with sauce.
Fill tortilla with generous amounts of lentil mixture, top with cheese+sour cream mixture, roll up and place in pan.  Repeat until out of filling or enchiladas.  Pour extra enchilada sauce on top and add Taco Bell sauce liberally, and top with cheese.  Bake at 400 for 15-20 mins, or until cheese is bubbly.  Now devour.

Take pictures if you make this yummy recipe! Also, another benefit of taco bell sauce: cheap art supplies! AC is a better artist than me, she'll post some of her pictures later.
